About Us,
We first got into the business about three years ago with a small little martini bar on College called the Wild Indigo.
After getting bored of the club scene the inspiration for Indigo was simple: creating a space for people like us who wanted to hear good music, have a good drink and actually be able to talk to the person you wanted to spend time with. We did very well with this formula and so decided we needed to expand. It took us about a year to find a suitable space. After traveling to Europe and places like New York and Miami we knew exactly the kind of loft space we were looking for and found it off King, where Caché now stands.
Our address is 469 King St. West between Rodney's Oyster Bar and Brassaii Restaurant, through the alley. Just look for the MINI car dealership, we're directly across the street. We are open for business from 9:00pm on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. In the summer we will be opening at 5:00 to cater to the executives of King St. W. and surrounding area.
A multi-level deck patio is in the works to be located in front of the 10 foot steel doors that have become our trademark.
We have an extensive martini list for our discerning clientele and also bottle service for vip tables.
The idea here is a New York style loft bar and lounge with lots of couches and lots of candles.
The music is anything but commercial, from Buddha Bar and trip lounge to deep and sexy house featured at some of the hottest spots in Paris.
Food menu is limited to mostly appetizer plates however we work closely with some of the finer restaurants in the vicinity for catering events. Complimentary hors d'ouerves are served during special events and private parties.
Caché - the name has French origins and inspirations as does most of the music we play.
We've went through great lengths to search out the best lounge music in the world to create an unmistakably original vibe.
Cache means "hidden" in French. Other loose definitions include to be "in the know" and an "understated, subtle personality".
The bar is somewhat exclusive in that if you don't get here early enough on the weekend, you're probably not getting in.
It's just a matter of space. Caché is not a club nor do we want to be. Unlike a lot of other places in the city, the last thing
we want is people on top of each other. The crowd we cater to is somewhat older and have outplayed that club thing a while ago.
The layout of the space is two floors with washrooms and coat downstairs. The main floor has a 30 foot stone bar accented by
champagne and an impressive amount of mixes. Exposed brick and a loft style ceiling surround it with black and white nudes
exhibited on the brick. The second floor is covered with low lying couches and earth tones. Alot of hidden amber lighting was used to
create the desired effect of warm and relaxing.
The atmosphere is the ideal lounge - relaxing on the weekdays where we get alot of industry friends who come to chill and unwind
and a little more upbeat on the weekends. Cache is available for private parties, catered events and has become a unique space for film
shoots as well.
George, Gerry and Peter.
